Diane Vee Zeis

Diane Vee Zeis, age 81, of West Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Freda Benjamin, was born on August 30, 1940. She passed away on Sunday December 26, 2021.

Diane spent her childhood in Winterset, Iowa and graduated high school there. She attended college at the University of Northern Iowa. She raised two daughters along with two stepchildren in Des Moines. She retired from Midwest Gas in 1995 after 25 years of customer service and marketing.

Diane loved antiquing, the arts, food, fellowship and traveling. She loved a bargain!

Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers Joseph Jr. and Charles Benjamin, sister-in-law Sondra Benjamin, first husband Gary Stitzel, and husband Robert Zeis.

Survivors include her siblings: Sharon (Bruce) Hann of Denver, Colorado; Rick Benjamin of Auburn, Nebraska. Daughters: Susan Stitzell of Des Moines, Iowa; Jana (Tim) Ernst of Carlisle, Iowa. Stepson Rob (Trish) Zeis of Des Moines, Iowa. Stepdaughter Jen (Nick) Bailey of Grimes, Iowa. Grandchildren: Jeremy (Holly) Ernst, Cassie Ernst, Nick (Annie) Stitzell, Emily Zeis, Riley Carlson, Mia Bailey and Morgan Bailey. Great-Grandchildren: Elise Stitzell and Henry Ernst. Former husband John Hamilton.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for May 5, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Chapel 7601 Fleur Drive, Des Moines, IA from 1:00-2:30 p.m. with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Diane would want you to remember the fun times shared and not to be sad.
