G. W. BROSKI DEAD

Veteran Engineer on the Rock Island Dies at Valley Junction

George W. Broski, the veteran engineer on the passenger train between this city and Des Moines, died at his home in Valley Junction, Friday evening. He had been sick for several weeks and gradually failed in health. He had been a sufferer for several years from a peculiar form of eczema and his death was probably hastened by it.

Mr. Broski was a citizen of Winterset for many years and highly respected. He was one of the oldest engineers on the Rock Island road. He commenced to pull passenger trains as soon as the Rock Island was built through Iowa, and as its oldest Iowa engineer was in later years given his choice of runs, choosing the run between here and Des Moines.

He was a member of the Catholic church and an old soldier. He was an ardent democrat and was always interested in the welfare of the party. His home was a happy one. He leaves a wife and four grown children.
