Page 5, Column 4The death of Mrs. Josiah Arnold, mother of H. A. Arnold, occurred at Greenfield last week. Mrs. Arnold was an old resident of this county and had many friends among the old citizens.
She was a sister of Jesse and John Oldham, of Douglas township. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold and Mrs. Palmer went over to Greenfield to attend the funeral.
________________________Transcribers note: Maiden name taken from 1845 Athens County, Ohio Marriage Record. The maiden name "Day" appears in several records of her children's marriages and the statement that she is a sister of Jesse and John Oldham is questionable. The Arnold family was in Madison County censuses from 1856 through 1873.
