Tommy Dale McElree, son of James Briggs and Ruby (Miller) McElree, was born Sept. 23, 1940, in Osceola, Iowa, and passed from this life Aug. 24, 2001 at his home in Truro at 80 years of age.

Tommy received his education in the Des Moines Schools. He served his country with the United States Navy from 08/11/1959 to 08/20/1960 attaining the rank of SA (E-2).

Tommy spent many years working in the Des Moines area as a bartender. He enjoyed going out to eat and visiting Lakeside Casino in Osceola. He was also an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Those relatives who preceded Tommy in death were his parents, James and Ruby; step father, Bill McElree and his grandparents, Clyde and Pauline Miller.

Tommy leaves to cherish his memory his companion, Donna Snead and her son Carol of Truro; brothers, Mike (Kathy) McElree of Altoona and Billy (Charm) McElree of Boulder City, Nev.; sister, Linda Zacharias of St. Louis, Mo.; as well as other relatives and friends.

Services were held at Kale Funeral Home on Friday, Sept. 3, with Pastor Paul Burrow officiating. Interment followed in the Young Cemetery.
