Barbara "Barbie" Fowler, 89, of Heber Springs, Arkansas passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019. She was born February 16, 1930 in Earlham, Iowa to John and Fern Golightly.

After graduating from high school, Barbie attended Cedar Falls College and then began her teaching career. After marrying her husband, Jack Fowler, she ran a preschool in her home in Marshalltown, Iowa for fourteen years. She retired after thirty-one years of teaching at the Heber Springs School Department. Barbie volunteered at Cleburne County Cares and was always involved in her church, First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sons, John Fowler and Scott Fowler.

Survivors: husband of sixty-eight years, Forrest Jack Fowler; son Steve Fowler; daughter, Cynthia Bader (Jay); grandchildren, William Peter (Kate), Stephanie O'Callaghan (Dave), John Dean Fowler and Shauna Fowler; two great-grandchildren, Trevor Fowler and John Forrest Peter.

A memorial service will be held on February 15, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Heber Springs, Arkansas.
