One of Madison Allen’s children, a boy about five years old, died Sunday of diphtheria and was buried in the Sayre cemetery Monday. The child was sick but a few days, apparently with a cold, but until Saturday was not considered seriously ill.

Mr. Allen and family have the sympathies of the community. To lose a child is a great trouble, but to be shut off from association with friends and neighbors certainly augments the grief.
