Marguerite Burklund, 98, of Des Moines passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 at The Village in Indianola.

Family will greet friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Winterset Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Jefferson-Goar Cemetery, Madison County. Memorials may be made to the Jefferson-Goar Cemetery Fund.

Helen Marguerite Reimann Burklund was born March 8, 1923 in on a farm in rural Booneville, Madison County, Iowa, the daughter of Emmiel and Nora (Dooley) Reimann. She was married to Glen C. Burklund on May 4, 1942 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She worked in Des Moines while Glen was in the service and later joined Glen in the entertainment field. They traveled and were stars on stage, radio, and TV. Glen and Marguerite built, owned and operated two mobile home courts in Isanti, Minnesota in between playing engagements. They lived in Minnesota 43 years, moving back to Des Moines in April 1995. While in Minneapolis, Marguerite also worked at General Mills, Control Data, Sperry Rand Univac, and Minneapolis Honeywell.

She was a longtime member of Ogilvie Women’s Club and served on the Tenth District Minnesota Federation of Women’s Club as recording secretary and International Affairs Department. She was a life member of DAVA and the Twin Cities Musicians Union.

Marguerite is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmiel and Nora; her husband, Glen; sisters, Edna Lint and Hazel Reimann; and brother, Jimmie Reimann.
