John Chapman, a former citizen of this city, died at his home in Des Moines last week. Mr. Chapman came to Winterset years ago and was in the mercantile business for several years with Mr. King, taking the business after the death of his partner.
He removed from Winterset to Stuart about 1880 and a few years later to Des Moines, where he has resided ever since.
