Myrna Mardyll (Steinmetz) Quam 

Myrna Mardyll (Steinmetz) Quam passed peacefully to her rest at home with family on July 9, 2021. Myrna was born in Anita, Iowa, to Glen Harold and Evona Rae (Cooper) Steinmetz on September 5, 1940. She graduated from Anita High School in 1958 and retired from Werner Enterprises in 2002.

Myrna married Donald Gene Quam July 20, 1958. Together they had four children: Lisa Clouzet (Ron), Lori Bremer (Mike), Lindy Jo Markeson (Dave), and Lee Quam. Her grandchildren are Ashley Quam Tenney (Joe), Christoffer Clouzet, Alex Clouzet, Stefani Clouzet, Zachary Quam and Lexi Quam. Her four great grandchiIdren are Valek, Jocelyn, Clover, and Elizabelle. In 1984, Myrna joined union with Clifford (Skip) Christensen, and they were together until his death in 2015. Myrna was stepmother to Ed Christensen (Joyce), Annette Thompson (Terry), and Galen Christensen (Ruchi) and their children. Myrna was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jeannie Rasmussen (Bud) and Marilyn Bates (Ray), and an infant brother, Robert. She will be greatly missed by family, including many cousins, nieces and nephews, neighbors, and friends.

Myrna attended the Winterset Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was known and loved for her kind and giving heart, sense of adventure, and humor. She enjoyed keeping up with family and friends, traveling, taking drives in the country, reading, listening to music, working puzzles, and tending to her garden and flowers.

Services:  Honoring Myrna’s wishes, she has been cremated and private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will go to First Step Hospice and Fontanelle Public Library. Checks may be made out to Lindy Jo Markeson and sent to: 17127 Alcorn Avenue, Council Bluffs, Iowa 51503. The Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements.
