By the death of James Monaghan, one of the sons of James Monaghan of Douglas township, Madison county loses one of her brightest and best young men. He had been ill for some time with typhoid fever and fell a victim to it.

He was well educated and a young man of great promise and worth. He had graduated at Des Moines Business College last year and had been up at Sioux City attending school there and came home to vote and fell sick.

The sympathy of the entire community goes out to Mr. and Mrs. Monaghan in their great affliction. The funeral occurred Tuesday.
