Her father was a road construction superintendent and the family moved about the United States during her early years. As a result of her father’s work, she was in nine different schools in one nine-month period. She was introduced to may differing lifestyles throughout her youth which explains her ease of communication.
Carolyn was a 1952 graduate of Osceola High School, excelling in softball, track and basketball. She attended Methodist School of Nursing with an RN license as her goal. Rich passed away on December 31, 2007.
Carolyn enjoyed many hobbies; golf, sewing, crocheting, reading, playing piano, genealogy, and at the top of the list is playing bridge with her friends. She was a willing volunteer for the American Cancer Society and VFW as well as many other organizations. She so enjoyed her career life that she retired twice; first from FS Services after thirty-two years of employment and second, from The John Wayne Museum Gift Shop after nearly twenty years of service.
