Phyllis Elaine Wagoner, 77 of Nevada, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at her home in Nevada.

Phyllis was born November 5, 1942, in Dexter, Iowa the daughter of Alex Burl and Hildred Elaine (Hedges) Hanner. She graduated from Stuart High School in 1961 and was united in marriage to Harry Alvin Wagoner on June 7, 1964, in Stuart. Phyllis worked for GuideOne Insurance as a switchboard operator until her retirement in 2002. After retiring, she and Harry moved to their lake home near Aitkin, Minnesota, where they joined the Cuyuna Rock/Gem and Mineral Society, and she later became a lifetime member. Phyllis enjoyed many hobbies and activities. Her greatest passions were sewing, cross-stitching, baking and cooking, vegetable gardening and flowers, especially African violets, day lillies, orchids and irises. As a girl and young woman, she was a generous and loving caregiver to her younger siblings. After marriage, Phyllis was a great partner to Harry, enjoying camping and fishing, and rock hunting adventures, and playing guitar in accompaniment to Harry's old-time fiddling. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and passed along many of her wonderful skills and talents to them.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harry of Nevada; her children: Faith (Michael) Winchester of Nevada, Tracy (David) Galloway of Boyce, LA and Wesly Wagoner of Earlham; six grandchildren: Faris (Brandon) Russom, Sidney (Colin) Shaul, Jacob Waddle, Carson Waddle, Hunter Wagoner, and Riona Wagoner; her sisters: Dorothy (Dale) Messenger of Maxwell, Carol Madden of Holland, MI, Evelyn (Terry) Ripley of Green Valley, AZ and Arlene (Bruce) Stanley of Redfield; and her brother, Thomas (Sharon) Hanner of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers: James, Burl, Russell and Harry Wayne.

Her family plans to host a gathering in celebration of her life at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Park Nicollet Struthers Parkinson’s Center, 6701 Country Club Drive, Golden Valley, MN 55427, in memory of Phyllis.
