Patrick Eugene Sevier

Patrick “Hooter” Sevier, 73, of Orient died Monday, May 3, 2021 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Committal burial service will be at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Ia. at 11:00 a.m. on May 13, 2021. Full military honors will be provided by the Navy Honor Guard and Theodore J. Martens Creston VFW Post #1797. Pastor Ben Carter-Allen will officiate. Open visitation will be 2-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston, with family receiving friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Memorials can be kindly made to the family.

Patrick Eugene Sevier was born March 11, 1948 in Creston to Cecelia Elizabeth “Betty” (James) Sevier and Eugene Edward “Gene” Sevier. He grew up in Creston, graduating from Creston High School in 1966 and later proudly served his country as a part of the U.S. Navy from 1967 until 1971. He also attended Southwestern Community College and Northwest Missouri State University.

Pat was united in marriage to Mary McFee and later divorced. Pat has lived in the Creston, Orient and Macksburg areas all his life working at Wellman Dynamics and Mahle-Parr. On September 20, 1997 he was united in marriage to Robin Lorraine Perrin in Macksburg at the Methodist Church. He was active on bowling leagues and was also a high school girls softball umpire and drove a school bus for the Orient Macksburg Schools from 2011 until 2020.

Survivors include his wife Robin of Orient, Ia.; daughter, Deborah (Robert) Geis of Archer, TX.; sons, Blake Sevier (Cali Foglesong) of Marcus, Ia., William Sevier of Orient, Ia.; siblings, Tom (Connie) Sevier of Creston; Theresa Sevier of Creston; Colleen Beatty of Creston; sister-in-law Kim Sevier of Ft. Worth, TX; 3 grandchildren, Kyler Koch, Keyton Koch and Kamery Harden; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Susie Sevier and Shelly Sevier and his brother Bruce Sevier, sister-in-law, Desiree K. Perrin-Abell and nephew Casey Sevier.
