Des Moines, IowaMary Hughes, 54, passed away September 22, 2020 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. A private family service will be held on October 1, 2020 at McLaren’s Funeral Home. Burial will be held afterwards at St. Charles Cemetery in Madison County, IA on October 1, 2020 at 3:00 PM.
Mary was born to Jerald and Marie White on August 5, 1966 in Osceola, IA. Mary attended Interstate 35 High School where she participated in softball and cheerleading. She graduated in 1984. Mary was a skilled billiard specialist. She participated in many tournaments and leagues, winning awards and trophies. Mary also enjoyed spending time with her partner, Jeremy and dog, Briggs. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother. Mary made many friends and will always be remembered for putting others first.
Mary is preceded in death by her mother, Marie. Mary is survived by her daughter, Ashley Richards; sons, Dylan and Hunter Hughes; step-son, Tim Watson; sisters, Julie, Marsha, and Dixie; father and step-mother, Jerald and Jeannie; step-father, Bob; grandchildren, Bailee and Mariah; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials for Mary can be made to the VA office of Iowa.
