Services for Dr. Eugene J. Luebbers, 64, of Knoxville, a former Des Moines resident who died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Des Moines General Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Augustin’s Catholic Church here. Burial will be at the St. Patrick’s Irish Settlement Cemetery near Cumming.

Born in St. Louis, Mo., Dr. Luebbers lived in the Des Moines area from 1949 to 1971, when he moved to Knoxville. He was a graduate of Still College and was a staff member at the Veterans Hospital in Knoxville. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Anthony’s Church in Knoxville.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Maureen A. Luebbers of Council Bluffs and Mary Jean Luebbers of Juneau, Alaska; a half brother, Robert of St. Louis; and his stepmother, Mrs. Margaret Luebbers of St. Louis.

A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at McLaren’s Funeral Home in West Des Moines.
