Services for John F. Monaghan, 64, of 2714 Ingersoll Ave., who died of a heart ailment Thursday at home, will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church near Cumming. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Mr. Monaghan was born in Winterset and lived in Des Moines for 12 years. He was a U.S. Army career officer and a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a retired colonel with the Iowa Air National Guard. He was also a retired employee of United Electronics Institute. Mr. Monaghan was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include a brother, William of Chicago; and a sister, Mary Joan Monaghan of Winterset.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Caldwell-Brien-Robbins Funeral Home.
