Page 6, Column 1MORTUARY – Mary Chandler Glass
Mary Catherine Virginia Chandler was born Sept, 17, 1855 at Harrisonburg, W. V. and passed away at her home in Clarke county, Iowa July 5, 1922.
She was married to T. G. Glass, Dec. 23, 1871. To this union were born ten children, two of whom have preceded her to the better land. Those who survive are Charles O. of Omaha, Nebr.; Don C. of Laurel, Mont.; James of Sanborn, Iowa; Neal, Fred, Reba, and Ray. These children with a kind and devoted husband, are left to mourn her loss.
At a very early age, she professed faith in Christ, although not affiliating with any church, she remained true to the faith. She was a good Christian, a faithful wife and a devoted mother and a friend to everybody.
We mourn her today, but not as those who have no hope. God has called her from earth, but He has also taken her from pain and weakness into that better home above. We cannot recall her, but we can go to her, which is far better and the fruitful hope of this meeting shall render our sorrow easier to bear. May God help us to be patient and trustful in Him.
