OBITUARY – O. C. Cooper

On Monday evening, November 9th occurred the death of Ode C. Cooper from a bruise on the knee received while shucking corn that terminated into blood poison. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the home with the Rev. Randels officiating. Interment was made at Fields cemetery.

Oda C. son of John and Retta Cooper was born July 7, 1890 near Truro, Iowa and passed away November 9, 1931, aged 41 years, 4 months and 2 days.

On February 15, 1922, he was united in marriage to Marie Carter at Osceola, Iowa. To this union was born four children, Beulah Mae who passed away at the age of 18 months; Ronald, Christine and Donna Grace who with their heartbroken mother mourn the loss of a devoted husband and father. He also leaves a daughter by a former marriage, Arleene Cooper of Rawlins, Wyo. besides his immediate family he leaves an aged mother, one brother, and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

At an early age he confessed his Savior uniting with the Christian church at Truro and throughout his life has manifested his faith by the spirit of sacrifice and helpfulness to those in trouble or sorrow.

Oda was quite a home loving man admired by everyone for his loyalty to his home and family and will be sadly missed by everyone.

The sympathy of the entire community goes out to his loving wife and children, his grief stricken mother, brother and other relatives.

News of Madison County – Oak Run

O. C. Cooper died Monday night. The funeral was held at the home Wednesday afternoon. Burial in the Field Cemetery.
