Death of J. H. Longnecker

J. H. Longnecker died at his home at Arispe Friday, April 10, at the age of seventy-seven years. About twenty years of his life were spent in Madison county, ten years near the United Brethren church north of Winterset, three in Webster township and seven in Monroe township.

About twenty years ago he sold his farm in Monroe township and moved to Arispe where he has since made his home. He is survived by his wife, two brothers, and five children, Ira and George Longnecker of Creston; Mrs. Robert Smith, of Arispe; and Clarence and Charles of Winterset.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday from the Methodist church at Arispe, their local pastor officiating and burial was made in the Afton cemetery.

Those going from here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Longnecker and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lonnecker and family. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Aikin and son, Gilbert, of Van Meter, also attended the funeral.
