Lightnting Fatality

Mr. and Mrs. Dan Loehr were called to Waukee, Dallas county, last Friday by the death of Mr. Loehr's uncle, Wm. Rippey, a former resident of Madison county. Mr. Rippey was struck by lightening, Wednesday while assisting at threshing. His absence was noted while the storm was in progress, his companions thinking he had taken refuge in some for the buildings, so the body was not found until after the thunderstorm was past.

The team and wagon that he had been using were apparently unharmed. The body was found in the wagon box the team having stopped when they came to a fence. ...Macksburg Independent.
