Corydon - Carole Armstrong, age 92 of Corydon passed away on July 4, 2020 at Corydon Specialty Care.

Carole Deane Browne was born on November 28, 1927 in St. Charles, Iowa to Donald and Helen (Thompson) Browne. She graduated from St. Charles High School and then went on to further her education at William Penn College. Carole was married to Richard Houston in 1948. They raised two daughters: Teresa and Beth. She was later married to Harley Armstrong and she welcomed a step son Tim to her family.

Carole and Richard owned and operated a produce store in St. Charles, Iowa. She enjoyed reading, shopping for antiques, going to the state fair and watching her Royals play baseball.

Carole is survived by her daughters: Teresa Violett and Beth Freeman, step son Tim Armstrong (Goldie), grandchildren; Brent Freeman, Katy Rankin (Nathan), Dustin Freeman (Staci), Kelly Willey (Josh), Abby Clark (Chase), Hayley Violett, Kelsey Violett, Steve Armstrong (Lyndsey), Amanda Armstrong, Brittany Decker (Ryan), eighteen great grandchildren, sisters: Sally Wharff and Lou Greenman and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Richard Houston and Harley Armstrong, and sisters: Donna Hatfield and Jean Reynolds.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Iowa State Fair. Condolences may be shared at thomasfh.com.
