FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN NEBRASKA

Mrs. John Evans, the eldest daughter of Alfred and Mary Jane Norris, an old family of Douglas township, living near the Sulgrove bridge, died May 24 in Thedford, Nebraska. Mrs. Evans was attending an American Legion Auxiliary poppy program at one of the Thedford churches when she was stricken a few moments after taking part in the program.

She was 67 years old and is survived by her husband, a daughter and two sons. Mrs. Katherine Griffith, of Winterset, is a sister. The family had lived in Thedford since 1891.

Funeral services were held May 27 at the Congregational church in Thedford conducted by Miss Nellie Taylor, first reader of the Christian Science church of Broken Bow.
