A funeral was held for H. Russell Mintle, 77, of Des Moines, who died of cancer at his home in Des Moines. No services are planned and the body will be cremated following visitation on Saturday evening.

Mr. Mintle was born in Grinnell and had lived in Des Moines since 1958, being a retired electrician.

His survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, William of Des Moines, two daughters, Lila McConn of Creston and Donna Courtney of Des Moines; a brother, Bernard of Redding, Calif.; a sister, Phyllis Grebel of Oroville, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Mintle was the brother-in-law of Bonnie Feldman of the Van Meter area.
