Page 6, Column 2James Irvin Billings, son of Ira and Diana Jane Billings was born March 15, 1880 at Lucas, Iowa. He passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 1961 at his home in Van Meter, Ia., after a lingering illness of 16 years.
He was united in marriage to Bertha Robinson Oct. 26, 1913, at Boone, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, 2 brothers and three sisters. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Bertha, 2 sisters, Mrs. Thomas Southward of Milo, Iowa, Mrs. Blanche Short of Boone, Iowa, two nieces and three nephews and a host of friends.
He was baptized March 20, 1957 and joined the Evangelical United Brethren Church at Van Meter, Ia. During his sickness he was always a patient of suffering and always had a pleasant smile for every one who would come to visit him. God has called and Jim has answered.
