Earlham, IowaLeonard Adams, 74, of rural De Soto passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019. Memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home – Earlham Chapel. Visitation with family present will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Leonard Adams Memorial Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Leonard was born on October 19, 1945 to Meredith and Laveta (Littrell) Adams at the family home place outside of De Soto. He grew up outside of Earlham and attended Earlham Schools. Following his schooling began farming. He later worked for Hallett Material where he was employed for over 25 years before retiring in 2009.
On February 24, 1964 he was united in marriage to Sharon Wilson. To this union one son Brad was born. In his spare time Leonard enjoyed working on tractors and cars and could fix anything that was broken. He loved camping and attending auctions. He was quick witted and always had a joke to share with family and friends. Most of all he treasured the time he was able to spend with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Meredith and Laveta; sister, Jean Bruening; and sisters-in-law: Nancy Adams, Linda Adams and Carolyn Adams
Leonard leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Sharon; son, Brad (Rachelle) of Earlham; grandson, Jeremy (Katie Beary); sister, Joann (Jerry) Sell of Fargo, ND; brothers: Merrill Adams of Menlo, Darrell (Marilyn) Adams of Earlham; Harold Adams of Earlham; brother-in-law, Richard Bruening of Minnesota and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.
