Ruby Helen Hansen, 86, of the 2000 block of Maple Street died of complications of a stroke Wednesday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Hansen was born in Patterson and had lived in Des Moines most of her life. She had worked in the bakery department of Super Valu Store and was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church and Blank Hospital Guild and was a volunteer with Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Benoit of Atwater, Calif.; two brothers, Robert Dyer of Des Moines and Jack Dyer of Carson City, Nev.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
