Jack Lee Farver, age 87 of Winterset, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church. Visitation will take place on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Monroe United Methodist Church or the Silent City Cemetery Association. Condolences may be left for the family at coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Arnold and Irene (Price) Farver, Jack was born on January 22, 1932 in Colfax, Iowa. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1950. Jack served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On September 11, 1951, he was united in marriage to Shirley Thomasson in Iowa City. Jack worked for the D.O.T. retiring in 1996. He was a former member of the Monroe United Methodist Church, the Monroe American Legion and the Winterset American Legion, and the Lions Club. He enjoyed golfing, playing poker, hunting but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Shirley; two sons, Kevin (Dena) Farver and Kent Farver; four grandchildren, Austen Farver, Nolan Farver, Kade Farver and Kasi Farver; his siblings, Joann (Keith) Datwyler, Merlin (Marilyn) Farver, and Roger (Deb) Farver as well as several nieces and nephews. Preceding Jack in death were his parents, in-law's; an infant son, Jon Charles and two brothers, Lyle Farver and Robert Farver.
