Harriet Ann Husted

Harriet Ann Husted, age 81, passed away Friday November 15, 2019 at the West Bridge Care Center in Winterset, Iowa with her family by her side. Harriet was born October 7, 1938 in Winterset, Iowa to the late Max and Catherine (Clark) Kilpatrick.

Harriet attended Winterset High School graduating in 1957. Harriet married her high school sweetheart, Bill Husted in June of 1957. They moved to a farm outside Truro, Iowa where they farmed and raised their family. They were blessed with two daughters, Joanie and Melissa.

Harriet worked on the farm and raised her family. She loved her family, enjoyed visiting with her friends and traveling. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, Sweet Adeline's. Harriet served on the Truro Library Board and the election board in Truro for many years.

Survivors include her two children Joanie (Terry) Stuart of New Virginia, IA, Melissa Husted of Lee's Summit, MO, three grandchildren Mike (Whitney) Stuart of New Virginia, IA, Dakota VanLanker of Grandview, MO and Bailey VanLanker of Lee's Summit, MO, five great grandchildren, Ella, Burke, Briggs and Sloane Stuart, and Marlee Harrison, her sister Phyliss Woodley of Winterset, IA, and two nephews David and Doug Woodley.

Harriet was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Bill Husted, her parents Max and Catherine Kilpatrick, grandson Billie Stuart and brother-in-law, Merritt Woodley.

Order of the Eastern Star services will be held 5:30 PM, Thursday November 21, 2019 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola

Visitation will follow with family greeting friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday.

Memorial services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, November 22, 2019 at Kale Funeral Home with Mike Albert, Spiritual Care Counselor from EveryStep Hospice. officiating.

Interment of her cremains will follow in the Blair Chapel Cemetery in Madison County.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Truro Library.
