Doris Hill, 90, of Winterset, died Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Azria Health Winterset.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Winterset Chapel. Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, October 28 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Meals on Wheels and The Multi-Purpose Center. Online condolences may be left for the family at caldwellparrishcom.

Doris Ann was born April 10, 1929, in Winterset, Iowa to Roy and Martha (Egy) Cunningham. She graduated from Winterset High School in 1947 and was married on June 14, 1947 in Indianola, Iowa, to George Wendell Hill.

She had been a lifetime resident of Winterset and was a homemaker and a babysitter. She enjoyed sewing baby quilts and was well known for her homemade sugar cookies, pumpkin bread and potato salad. She enjoyed going to Branson, Missouri and watching the various shows, especially The Andy Williams Show and was a big fan of George Strait. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her children, Beanne Hill of Des Moines, Marcia (Myron) Green of Ankeny, Charles (Robin) Hill of Winterset, and Cathy Hill of Winterset; grandchildren, Melissa (Jeremy) Ingrim, Chad (Casey) Hill, and Chelsea (Joe) Strong; and great grandchildren, Wyatt and Trevor Ingrim, and Ethan and Eli Hill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Martha (Egy) Cunningham; husband, George Hill; brothers, Eugene Cunningham, and Hugh Cunningham; sister, Mertie Herrick; and grandson, Michael Green.

Burial will be in the McDonald-Chase Cemetery, Winterset, Iowa.
