Obituary

Jack LeeRoy Johns, 79, of Earlham, Iowa passed away suddenly Friday, August, 23, 2019. He leaves behind his wife Betty Johns, sons Brett, Brian and LeRoy (Diana), daughters Lisa, Karen (Bill), Donna (Jeff), Wilda (Mike), and Sharon (Jim), 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, sisters Pat, Sharry and Sandy (Mark). He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Alberta and daughter Nora Harrison.

He was employed with Aramark of Des Moines for many years. After retiring from Aramark, Jack drove a school bus for the Earlham School District which brought him great joy taking care of “his kids”!

Jack was a military veteran of the United States Marine Corp and retired from the Iowa National Guard. He was also an active member of the Earlham Chapter of the American Legion.

There will be no visitation prior to the services. Services will be held Thursday, August 29th at the American Legion Hall in Earlham at 9:00 a.m. with internment to follow at the Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet friends at a luncheon at the Earlham Presbyterian Church at 12:00 noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Earlham Fire and Rescue.
