Corinne Eivins

Corinne Eivins, 93, of Manitowoc, Wisc., died Jan. 26, 2019.

Graveside services were held Saturday, June 22, in the Winterset Cemetery.

Corinne was born in Madison County, Iowa; the oldest of six born to Ray and Edna Aikin on Jan. 12, 1926. She grew up in the area and was active in her one-room grade school, Stringtown School, and her high school in Macksburg.

She married her high school sweetheart, and they farmed in the county on various family farms. After a few years, Corinne and her family moved to Colorado Springs, Colo. In 1952, Corinne was contacted by Jehovah’s Witnesses; her initial discussion led to future visits, and eventually a study with a local sister, LaVonne Jones. Corinne was baptized April 12, 1958.

In 1963 she moved back to Iowa to be near her parents in Marshalltown. She lived there for more than four decades, raising her children and having a share in congregation activities. In 2006, she moved to Manitowoc, Wisc. Eventually she was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia, but was still able to keep in touch with the congregation via meetings by phone.

She is survived by children, Larry Eivins, Gary Eivins and Pamela Blashe; 10 grandchildren.
