Beula J. Lamm, 100, of Ogden, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Journey Senior Living of Ankeny.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, at the Community United Methodist Church, Ogden with Steve Satre officiating. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today (Wednesday, June 12) at the Community United Methodist Church. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Beula Jeane Muselman was born on Oct. 21, 1918, the daughter of Taylor Elmer and Hester (Jones) Muselman. She graduated with the Truro High School class of 1935, and then attended Beauty School in Des Moines. She later owned and operated Beula’s Beauty Shop in Truro.

On Feb. 28, 1942, Beula was united in marriage to Merrill V. Lamm in New Orleans. After WWII, Beula and Merrill made their home in Omaha for a brief time following Merrill’s honorable discharge from the United States Army Air Force. In 1947, the couple moved to the Ogden area where they farmed until 1991. Merrill passed away on Aug. 31, 2017. Beula was an active member of the Community Methodist Church in Ogden. She was an avid painter and artist and belonged to the Boone Brush & Palette Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 75 years, Merrill V. Lamm; son, Arlen Lamm; two daughters, Annise Thompson and Anita Lamm; three brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include her children, Angela (John) Lewis of Council Bluffs, Ann (Ray) Polito of Granger, Alana (Charles) Beck of Johnston and Alan (Carolyn) Lamm of Ogden; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Some of her other favorite hobbies included flowers and gardening, watching the birds that would visit her feeders, and playing cards. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Angela (John) Lewis of Council Bluffs, IA, Ann (Ray) Polito of Granger, IA, Alana (Charles) Beck of Johnston, IA, and Alan (Carolyn) Lamm of Ogden, IA; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
