CRESTON, IA. - Lester Clyde Campbell, 89, of Creston died of pneumonia Friday at Cresthaven Nursing Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Des Moines, and burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery there.
Mr. Campbell was born in Monmouth, Ill. He had been self-employed and was a member of Creston Christian Church, a past master of Thayer Masonic Lodge and a past grand member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
Surviving are his wife, Roma; two daughters, Ruby Fischler of Ocean-side, Calif., and Wilma Hoffman of Des Moines; a son, Herbert Phipps of La Habra, Calif.; a brother, Lennie of Jamestown, N.D.; a sister, Lena McLaughlin; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
