February 2019Judy Murray, also known as the “Christmas Card Lady” from Winterset, died peacefully February 9, 2019, at home surrounded by family. She was 64.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Waukee (400 Pleasant View Drive, Waukee), where Matthew Spackman will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Judy’s life. The family would like to thank everyone who has assisted during this season of her life. Memorials can be sent to a GoFundMe account that has been established to help pay for Judy’s medical cost and funeral expenses. Online condolences can be left for the family at Ochiltree.com.
Judy was born December 13, 1954 in San Jose, California to parents, Donald Sr. and Claire (Silva) Murray. She graduated from Lynbrook High school in 1972. She worked for Meyer appliance for twenty years.
She was a great and loving mother, sister and friend. She was full of life and loved her family dearly. She also loved her sports, especially baseball. She was a loyal fan just like her father before her to the San Francisco Giants, 49ers, and San Jose Sharks. She inspired thousands at the end of her life in how she managed her disease (dementia).
Judy is survived by her children, Michelle (Robert) Tunney of Winterset; Todd Monroe of Reno, Nevada; Christopher Sr. (Kimberly) Clinkenbeard of Humble, Texas; her grandchildren: Codey Wasden, Sarah and Brock Allen, Brittany Wasden, Emma Wasden, Calvin Wasden, Gavin Wasden, Porsche Clinkenbeard, Christopher Clinkenbeard Jr., Matthew Clinkenbeard, Vance Clinkenbeard, Ethan Clinkenbeard, Cheyenne Clinkenbeard, Tyler Clinkenbeard; her great-grandchildren, Bowen Allen, and Alina Wasden; her siblings, Donna (John) McCoy, Donald Jr. (Paula) Murray, June (Michael) Schultz; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Monroe; second husband, Jerry Clinkenbeard; a granddaughter, and many other relatives.
