Tony was born on September 21, 1956 to James and Darlene (Jackson) Goforth in Flint, Michigan. He grew up in Michigan and attended school there before moving to Iowa when he was 18. He worked for many years as a print press specialist for a number of companies in Des Moines. He also drove a bus for St. Anthony’s School and Des Moines schools. He retired from Meredith in the spring of 2018.

Tony was united in marriage to Karen Weaver on September 19, 2018. The couple made their home south of Earlham. Tony enjoyed the peace and quiet the country had to offer. He enjoyed riding horses, working on his motor cycles and playing pool. He was quick with a joke and always shared the day’s news with everyone. He loved to listen to NPR radio and would engage in a political debate whenever the situation arose. Most of all he treasured his time he was able to spend with his family and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, James and Darlene.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Karen of Earlham; children: Corrie, Jonah (Michelle), Natasha, Whitney (Joe, Kendra (Brian), Dalton, Jordon and Hanna; grandchildren: Kayla, Lexi, Christopher, Michael, Zane, Joe, Raelyn, Melody, Olivia and Ava; brothers: Keith, Paul, John and Don; mother-in-law, Donna; honorary father, Jack; honorary brother, Dave; and a host of extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.
