September 12, 2018Peoria – Marty Van Toll, 94, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 in Glendale, AZ.
Born August 21, 1924, in Winterset, IA, she was the daughter of the late Maud and Glenn Smith.
The family moved from Appleton, WI to Arizona in the summer of 1971. Marty was very active in the American Legion Auxiliary and had a lifetime membership. She was very proud of representing the State of Arizona as President in 1985-86. Marty will be remembered for her joyous personality and always had a smile on her face.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Martin; her son, Glenn; and her two brothers, Dale and Keith Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Connie Sordahl and Beth Coughenour; and three grandchildren, Susan Cooper, Michele and Michael Sordahl.
Visitation is from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 15, 2018, with the Funeral service immediately following at 2:00 PM at Hansen Chapel, 8214 N. 7th St., Phoenix 85020.
Interment will be at Earlham Cemetery in Earlham, IA.
