First Edition, Page 23, Column 2Hugh C. Thomson, 74, of 4117 Sixth Ave. died of a respiratory ailment Thursday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Davis City Cemetery.
Mr. Thomson, a retired auto body repairman, was born in Winterset and lived in Des Moines most of his life. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Eastside Church of the Nazarene and Highland Park American Legion and a volunteer with Blank Park Zoo.
Survivors include two daughters, Christine Short of Adel and Jacqueline Thomson of New York City; two sisters, Marjorie Wilson of Branson, Mo., and Dorothy Roby of Cedar Rapids; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
