Page 3, Column 3E. F. Paddock Rites Held At Lane Today
LANE, Aug. 12—(Special)—Funeral services for E. F. Paddock, who died in a Mitchell Hospital Tuesday afternoon about 1:15 o’clock following an extended illness, were to be held at the Lane M. E. Church this afternoon at two o’clock.
Mr. Paddock, who was over 80 years of age, resided with his wife in Lane the past 17 years, having moved here from their farm in Spink County.
A former farmer and school teacher, Mr. Paddock was active in community affairs. He served as treasurer for the Lane Consolidated School District for years and had served on the town board up to the time of his recent illness.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Edith Paddock, and several sons who live on the west coast and were unable to come to Lane for the funeral.
________________________Transcriber's note: First name taken from gravestone. Per his Madison County Marriage Record, he was married there in 1880. Birth records for children show that they lived in Madison County for several years after their marriage.
