Laura E. Perkins, 86, of 5190 E. University Ave., Pleasant Hill, died of cancer Sunday at Altoona Manor. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Simpson United Methodist Church of which she was a member. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Perkins was born in Winterset and lived in the Des Moines area most of her life. She retired from the F. W. Means Co. and Shriner’s Hospitals for Crippled Children and had been a member of Order of the Eastern Star and the Shrine Mounties Patrol and Calliope Unit.
Survivors include her husband, Marion W.; a son, Dean Knorr of Des Moines; a daughter, Shirley Wright of Katy, Texas; a sister, Gertrude Hepp of Waukesha, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, where the family will meet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Crippled Children.
