Charlse Hines, 82, resident of Orient since 1896, died this morning at 10:20 there after a year’s illness. He was born in Jasper county on Oct. 5, 1856 and worked at the Orient grain elevator for a number of years.
Mr. Hines was also an active member of the Methodist church.
Surviving are four sons, Dr. F. A. Hines of Gravity, Oscar Hines of Des Moines, and W. F. and C. J. Hines of Creston; two daughters Ollie M. Schuh of De Clair, Iowa and Nellie Hawkins at home, and six grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are pending word from relatives.

Final rites for Charles Hines, 82, resident of Orient since 1896, who died Saturday morning, were held at the Methodist church there this afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial was in the Orient cemetery.
