GEORGE W. HUFFAMN

George W. Huffman, 73, of 1900 Searle St. died of a stroke Thursday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Huffman was born in Winterset and had lived in Des Moines for 32 years. He had been a security guard for Camp Dodge, retiring in 1977.

Surviving are his wife, Blanche; seven daughters, Beverly Thomas, Martha Smith, Mary Israel, Toni Huffman and Jodi Huffman, all of Des Moines, Dixie Tholl of St. Marys and Rosa Dittmer of Newton; three sons, Bill of Northglenn, Colo., and Bob and Tim, both of Des Moines; two brothers, Dean of Mansfield, Mo., and Raymond of Eugene, Ore.; and 18 grandchildren.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today until service time Monday at the funeral home, where the family will meet with friends from 2 to 6 p.m. today.
