IN REMEMBRANCE OF MARY E. BERRY

Mary Euretta Johnson was born in Mercer County Pennsylvania February 26, 1845.

At the age of twelve, she with her parents moved to Madison County, Iowa where she grew to womanhood, and was married to J. J. Berry.

In December 1897 they moved to Dexter, Kansas where they spent the remainder of their lives.

She died at her home April 23, 1918. Funeral services were held April 24, from the Methodist church conducted by Rev. Moore of Arkansas City, and her remains were laid to rest in the Dexter cemetary.

She is survived by three sons, five daughters, two brothers and a sister.

For many years Mrs. Berry has been a member of the M. E. church and a faithful and earnest worker, having served as superintendant of the Sunday School for several years. Altho her health would not permit her attendance at church, for the past five years, she never lost interest in the church work.

Mrs. Berry loved her family, her friends, her home and her flowers. She realized that her time on earth was brief and said that she had no fear of death and expressed the wish that no one grieve for her. She had a smile for everybody as long as consciousnesses remained.
