William E. Wissler, 81, president of the Herring-Wissler Motor Co. here until his retirement in 1951, died Thursday at Bradenton, Fla., where he had made his home the last few years.
Mr. Wissler was vice-president of the Herring Motor Co., from 1911 until he purchased the company and became president of Herring-Wissler Motor Co.
He attended Tabor College. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Atlantic and was a York and Scottish Rite Mason. He belonged to Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, was a member of the Des Moines Rotary Club and Plymouth Congregational Church.
Graveside services will be at 11 a. m. Monday at Masonic Cemetery.
Mr. Wissler is survived by two daughters, Mrs. E. Gant Hickman, of Bradenton, and Mrs. Jack Aylor, Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, E. E. Wissler, Las Vegas, and Charles W., Estherville; a sister, Mrs Clark Van Ausdal, Sioux Falls, S. D., and seven grandchildren.
The family asks that any memorials be to the Iowa Heart Association.
