Page 1, Column 7Lida Jessup Gray Dies Here Sunday
Mrs. Lida Jessup Gray, 63, a resident of Creston since 1936, died at her home at 206 north Cherry street, at 8:10 a. m. Sunday. She had been ill for the last seven months.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Salem Lutheran church here. Rev. Marcus Aurelius will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery. Her body is at Coens Home for Funerals but will be taken to the home at 5 p. m. today where it will lie in state until time for the services.
Lida Haymond was born at Hebron, Ia., May 18, 1891. She was the daughter of Samuel A. and Amelia Farquhar Haymond. She was married, Feb. 14, 1946 to Ralph Gray, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. H. H. Fleming of Des Moines and Mrs. George Vincent of Creston; a son, Max Jessup of Clinton, Mo.; two brothers, Earl Haymond of Rossland, B. C., Canada, and Carl Haymond of Winterset; and a sister, Mrs. Earl Cline of Springfield, Ill.
She spent her girlhood in Winterset and later lived near Peru, Ellston and Nevinville before moving to Creston in 1936. She had been a practical nurse until retiring about two years ago.
She was a member of the V. F. W. Auxiliary.

Funeral services for Lida Jessup Gray were held at 2 p. m. today at the Salem Lutheran church here. Rev. Marcus Aurelius officiated. Burial was in Graceland cemetery. Pall bearers were Chester Haymond, Rex Haymond, Merle Haymond, Raymond Woolums, Carl Woolums and Perry Woolums, all nephews.
