Mrs. Earl Haymond Dies in Hospital

Mrs. Earl Haymond, 77, a former resident of Rossland, B. C. passed away on March 27, 1966 in hospital where she had been for a week. She had been in failing health for one year.

Ethel May Brown was born in Winterset Iowa, USA on March 5, 1889. In 1910 she married Earl Haymond at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Brown.

Mr. and Mrs. Haymond came to Cut Knife in 1913 and left for Wilkie in 1917 and made their home in Saskatoon and Wynyard before moving back to Cut Knife in 1933. In 1950 they moved to Rossland, B. C.

Mrs. Haymond was a member of the United Church, the United Church Women and Women’s Missionary Society as well as leader of the CGIT and was every ready to help with any worthy cause.

She is survived by her husband Earl and three sons, Evert, Donald and Clyde all of Rossland, Also two sisters, Mrs. L. A. Wolf (Phoebe) and Mrs. E. E. Busch (Barbara) both of Cut Knife and three brothers of Cut Knife, Claude of Vancouver and Elmo of Calgary, and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held in the Rossland United Church with Rev. W. Morrison officiating. Burial was in the Mountain View cemetery.

Former resident - Dies in B.C.

A Rossland resident, Ethel May Haymond, aged 77, died March 27, in Mater Misericordiael Hospital.

Mrs. Haymond was born in Winterset, Iowa. She was married in 1910 to Robert Haymond at Winterset. The came to Cut Knife in 1913, and then moved to Wilkie, about 1917, where they lived for a number of years. They have resided at Rossland for 14 years. She was a member of St. Andrew's Church, Rossland and also a member of the Dorcas Club.

Mrs. Haymond is survived by her husband and three sons Evert; Donald and Clyde, all of Rossland; brothers, Evert Brown, Cut Knife; Claude, Vancouver, and Elmo, Calgary; sisters, Mrs. Pheoba Wolf, Cut Knife; Mrs. Elmer (Barbara) Busch, Cut Knife; five grand-children and two great grand-children.

Funeral service was conducted in St. Andrew's United Church, Rossland, Rev. W. Morrison officiating.

Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery, Rossland.
