Keith Tucker, 96, of Winterset died Monday, July 16, 2018, at his home in Winterset.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 19, at Ochiltree Funeral Service; where family will be present to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 20, at the First United Presbyterian Church of Winterset with burial in the Winterset Cemetery, concluding with a Masonic Service by the Evening Star Lodge #43.

Memorials may be directed to the First United Presbyterian Church and/or the Winterset Art Center.

Keith Ira Tucker was born on a farm near Macksburg in Madison County, Iowa on November 14, 1921, the son of James Ira and Mattie Eleanor (Cochran) Tucker. He grew up on the family’s farm near Macksburg and graduated from Macksburg High School in 1939. Keith was united in marriage to Ethel Lee Osborn on January 14, 2001, on the Carnival Cruise Ship “The Inspiration” in the ship’s Wedding Chapel.

He was a member of the Winterset First United Presbyterian Church, Winterset Art Center where he was on the Board of Directors since 2005, as well as the Evening Star Masonic Lodge #34. In 2008, he was a Special Guest of his nephew’s at the Masonic Order 50th Anniversary Celebration in Tucson, Arizona.

Keith farmed for most of his working career from 1939 until 1964. In 1950, Keith was involved with the wheat harvest from Oklahoma to Canada. In 1959, he also worked as the manager for the Missouri Wessex Saddleback Swine Company and later became an insurance agent. During his years working as an insurance agent, he was a manager with Combined Insurance of America, Life Investors and Jackson National Life Insurance Company, all based in Missouri. In 1970, he received a Manager in Action Citation, an honor he was very proud of receiving.

Keith and Ethel Lee enjoyed traveling to many destinations including Europe, the Mediterranean, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, the Panama Canal, Alaska, and even sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge.

Keith is survived by his loving wife, Ethel Lee Osborn Tucker; a brother, Max Tucker and wife, Mary Jo of Macksburg; sister-in-law, Norma (Dick) Hope of Des Moines; brother-in-law, Don Osborn of TX; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dean (Dorothy) Tucker and Blaine (Darlene) Tucker; and six sisters, Helen (Clinton) Walter, Eleanor (Art) Wickstrand, Kathryn (Max) Kyner, Jean (Wilmont) Perkins (Howard) Greenwood, Ruth Tucker and a sister-in-law, Delsie Osborn.
