MRS. SUSAN DONOVAN DIES – FUNERAL MONDAY

The following clipping is taken from the Tribune-Capital telling of the death of Mrs. Susan Donovan, one of the old-time residents of Winterset, where she lived many years.

Mrs. Susan A. Donovan, a pioneer resident of Des Moines, died at 2 a.m. Saturday, at the home of her son, W. F. Donovan, 1254 east Ninth street. Mrs. Donovan, who was the wife of the late J. W. Donovan, Sr., a veteran of the civil war, came to Iowa from Illinois and made her home in Des Moines for nearly thirty years.

For the last fifteen years she lived at Mena, Arkansas, but returned to Des Moines more than a month ago.

Mrs. Donovan is survived by two daughters and two sons, Mrs. J. J. Brousy, Boone, Iowa; Mrs. Hattie Woodford, Chicago; W. F. Donovan of Des Moines, and J. W. Donovan, Jr. of Hutchinson, Kansas.

The funeral was held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at Hamilton & Powers funeral home. Interment was at Woodland cemetery.
