Page 1, Column 3Mrs. Myrtle Clark Dies at Omaha Hospital
Mrs. Myrtle Clark, 81, of 411 West Third, died at 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Catherine’s hospital in Omaha, where she had been a patient ten days. She had lived in Atlantic continuously since 1902 and was the last of a family of eight children.
Mrs. Clark, the daughter of Isaac and Sarah Parker Clanton, was born in Madison county April 6, 1879 and grew to womanhood in Atlantic. She was married to James E. Clark at Winterset Sept. 3, 1896 and they lived in Winterset until moving to Atlantic in 1902. Mr. Clark died April 2, 1947.
Surviving are a son, Bud Clark of Atlantic; three daughters, Mrs. Lois Hood of Lincoln and Mrs. Dorothy Hoffman and Mrs. John Ayers of Omaha, 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Roland’s Home for Funerals, the Rev. Harold A. Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic cemetery.
