Funeral Rites to Be Tuesday Morning at Holy Family Church

Patrick Wallace, 76, died at a local hospital at 4:05 o’clock, Sunday afternoon, following a long illness. He had resided at 1415 Adams avenue northwest.

Mr. Wallace was born Feb. 3, 1863, at Dunamagan, Kilkenny, Ireland. He was employed at the Lehigh Portland Cement company plant, March 13, 1911, upon arriving here from Ireland. He was pensioned by that company, Dec. 17, 1938. He was track foreman when pensioned.

Surviving Mr. Wallace are his wife, Mrs. Luella Wallace, two daughters, Mrs. A. H. Nicholson and Mrs. Roy H. Conklin, and one son, Robert, all of Toledo, Ore.

The Rosary will be said Monday evening at 8 o’clock at the chapel of the McAuley and Son funeral home, where the body of Mr. Wallace will lie in state until the time of services.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 8 o’clock at the Holy Family Catholic church, with the Rev. R. P. Murphy in charge. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic cemetery.

High Mass Celebrated for Patrick Wallace at Holy Family Church

A requiem high mass was celebrated Tuesday morning for Patrick Wallace in Holy Family Catholic church with the Rev. R. P. Murphy in charge. Mr. Wallace died Sunday evening in a local hospital following a lingering illness.

Pallbearers were F. O. Hampton, J. P. Laurer, John Lock, A. C. McCorkindale, Mike Hinich and Robert Levor.

Burial was made in St. Joseph’s cemetery.

Transcriber's note: Although this obituary reads as if he arrived in America in 1911, the 1900 Federal Census shows that he immigrated in 1876. He has an 1888 Madison County, Iowa Marriage Record and is in Walnut Township, Madison County, in the 1895 Iowa State Census.
