Mark Hamilton, 61, of Winterset died Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at his home.

A memorial gathering and luncheon will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, May 10, at the Winterset Community Church. Burial will be in the Prairie City Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Mark Duane Hamilton, son of Theodore and Donna (Tomlinson) Hamilton, was born December 17, 1956, in Des Moines. He graduated from Adel High School in 1974 and was united in marriage with Marla Steenhoek on April 13, 1995, at a ceremony held at the Madison County Court House in Winterset.

Mark worked as a cook at Bethesda Care Center and also worked at North and South Care Centers. Mark enjoyed making model cars and painting them. He also collected Match Box cars.

Mark is survived by his wife, Marla Hamilton of Winterset; stepchildren, Veronica Trester of Huxley, Jeff Trester of Johnston; siblings, Steve (Selina) Hamilton of Slater, Teddy (Linda) Hamilton of West Des Moines and Tom Hamilton of Earlham.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
